Alexis Awery, DVM
Dr. Alexis Awrey has a deep connection to animals that began in her hometown of Ramona, California. She earned her Equine Science degree from Colorado State University in 2017 and went on to graduate with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in 2021. Dr. Awrey started her career in Colorado, where she practiced small animal medicine before returning to her roots in Southern California in 2024.
Her professional interests lie in small animal general medicine and acupuncture, where she finds joy in improving the well-being of pets and their families.
Dr. Awrey’s journey to veterinary medicine was shaped by her upbringing around animals. From competing in rodeos to raising lambs through 4-H, she has always been deeply immersed in the care and companionship of animals.
Outside of work, Dr. Awrey enjoys competing in barrel racing and rodeos with her husband, Wade, whom she married in July 2024. Together, they share their home with a lively group of animals, including three horses, four dogs, and a charismatic cat who believes he’s one of the dogs.
Kelsey Medina, DVM
Dr. Kelsey Medina joined the team in July 2025. After completing a small animal rotating internship in Northern California, she practiced at a small animal clinic in the Bay Area for two years before returning to Southern California in 2023 to be closer to family. Dr. Medina enjoys all aspects of general practice, with special interests in surgery and dentistry. When not in the clinic, she loves baking, cooking, camping, and hiking with her family. She and her husband of nearly ten years share their home with their dog.
